The 24th regular Upper House election will be held on July 10.
Since unfortunately I will have been away from my home town for the purpose
of
leisure on that day, I used the early voting system to cast an absentee
vote today.
Kusatsu City Hall is the only early voting place in Kusatsu city till
Jul.2.
So, I went there by transferring to the bus in the rain.
It was past 5 in the evening when I voted.
I was surprised that the voters were more than I had imagined.

I casted a vote from my standpoint that oppose constitutional revision.
Unfortunately, it seems to me that the current administration promoting
it
conceal the issue from the voter and don't make it an important part of
their
campaign.

So, I casted my vote for an opposition coalition candidate that oppose
the
constitutional revision in the prefectural constituency and for a party
that takes
the same position in the proportional-representation constituency.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, I'm sorry for doing that.

However, according to the forecast by mass media, the LDPーNew Komeito
coalition is predicted to will win a majority of seats.
After the election, I may be told by Abe-san that we're sorry for winning.
When I just went out of the voting hall after voting, I was asked to provide
cooperation for exit poll by a researcher of the Asahi Shimbum Group.
In this case, the research can be finished in a short time because I just
select
and input an answer from a menu of choices for a question through a touch
operation on a portable terminal.

As you know, the voters are asked for their voting behavior directly in

After that, these data are utilized in the estimation of the number of
votes that
each candidate will obtain and quantitative analysis of voter's voting
behavior.
By the way, the UK decided to withdraw from EU by referendum just the
other
day.
Opinion polls in the UK showed that the groupe advocating “Remain” is in a
superior situation than the group advocating “Leave” by a narrow margin.
The majority of people all over the world never doubted and believed that.
It was a big upset.

However, in Japanese media polls, their prediction have never been wrong.
I'm surprised at their predict with high accuracy.
It may be the outcome of their steady efforts like this exit poll.
But as we saw in the UK's case, no one can tell the result untill the
completion
of the vote counting.
I would like to expect bare possibility of an upset in Japan again.
Everyone, please cast your vote in this election whichever position you
take.
