I've been suffering from back pain for the past 20 days and so spend in
great
distress every day.
It's because I sprained my right waist during the practice of golf at the
driving range.
Since I applied an anti-inflammatory analgesic plaster to the affected part,
applied a cast and went to an osteopathic clinic to get a massage everyday, I
felt a little less pain.
However, it's too late for me to recover completely from back pains.

Since I got anxious about it, I saw an orthopedic surgeon.
According to an X-ray photograph observation, it didn't arise from spinal
canal stenosis but merely from backache.
I was just relieved to hear that.

Since I felt better, I decided to take a walk while viewing cherry blossoms
on my way home.
Since the cold days continued even in March this year, the cherry blossoms
are late in blooming all over the country and therefore it seems the
announcement about estimated date when they will be in full bloom is
delayed.

The situation is the same here in Yokohama.
According to the blossom forecasts, the time of full bloom is delayed from
the
end of March to the begining of April.
Since it has become walmer, I thought on my own it's almost time to reach
full bloom today or tomorrow and so decided to go to cherry blosoom viewing
spot nearby along the Ookagawa river.
The following is my walking route map starting from Idogaya Station on
the
Keikyu Line near the clinic.

I got to Turumaki-bashi Bridge that is a 5-minute walk over the Ookagawa
River.
It may be because school children are on their spring vacation.
Many of the people viewing cherry blossoms are family members except for
men and women of all ages.
However, cherry blossoms were still one-third in bloom.

On the promenade extending along the Ooka-gawa River, about 500
someiyoshino cherry trees are lined from around Hinode-cho to Gumyo-ji
shopping street.
Someiyoshino cherry trees were one-third in bloom but low cherry trees
belonging to other varieties were in full bloom.

I walk toward Gumyo-ji Shopping Street from the Turumaki-bashi Bridge.
Weeping cherry trees in full bloom hanging down over the Ooka-gawa River
which I saw seven years ago were admirable, but the present bloom condition
was like this.

Paper lanterns (called “bonbori”) are displayed on a row of cherry blossoms
trees and the promenade is lined with many food stalls and street stalls
like
familiar street groumet, target shooting and so on.

The stage for cherry blossom viewing was set up, but the bloom condition
was not as good as I expected it would be.
The bloom condition near Gumyo-ji Shopping Street was also at a level such
as you see from the following pictures.
The time of full bloom is still to come.

Gumyo-ji Shopping Street was crowded with people on the way home from
cherry blossom viewing.

It's just lunch time.
I entered a familiar soba restaurant and ended cherry blossom viewing with
nurukan (approximately same as body temperature) sake.
